Our Story

In 1995, Pappas Bros. Steakhouse on Westheimer opened its doors at the site once occupied by The Strawberry Patch, the family’s first restaurant established in 1976 by Harris, Chris, and Greg Pappas.

It was this rich heritage of the Pappas family (in the restaurant business since 1967) that set the steakhouse on a trajectory defined by immeasurable care—for its guests, for every detail of their dining experience, and for the talented team that brings it all to life. As a result, today Pappas Bros. remains a hospitality icon—the classic Texas steakhouse that fully lives up to its celebrated renown.

The Wine

We’ve spent years building a wine program rooted in an extensive collection, curated by highly experienced sommeliers, and enriched by exceptional events throughout the year.

Featuring thousands of distinct selections sourced from every fine-wine-producing region around the world, the Pappas Bros. wine list is a living document that is fine-tuned monthly to reflect our evolving inventory. Through the years we have forged strong relationships with producers large and small, providing our guests access to hard-to-get specialty wines that make lovely pairings at every price point.

Pappas Bros. events offer guests the opportunity to explore the wide landscape of wine. At tastings, guests will visit with boutique winemakers and sample a broad selection of vintages. At seated dinners, wine enthusiasts will enjoy expertly crafted cuisine with exquisite pairings.

All Pappas Bros. sommeliers are certified, and most have earned Advanced Certificates. These talented professionals love sharing their expertise, whether they are guiding a wine enthusiast to a new vintage or educating a novice in finding a selection they will enjoy.

The Meat

Sourced with care and expertly prepared, our steaks are the heart of the Pappas Bros. menu.

We source only the finest cuts of beef from a single packer in the midwest and transport them directly to our restaurants, where they are butchered on-site. Most cuts are then dry aged in humidity-controlled freezers for a minimum of 28 days. Steaks are seasoned with kosher salt and black pepper, finished with butter, and seared to seal in flavor. The Pappas Bros. approach is as fastidious as it is timeless, underscored by tight quality control from field to flame and every step in between.

Spirits

We proudly offer more than 100 premium liquor brands, including one of the largest collections of rare single malts in the southwest.

Anchored in high quality spirits, fresh ingredients, and house-made syrups, the cocktail program honed by our seasoned bar staff is ambitious and classic—and most importantly pairs exquisitely with Pappas Bros.’ fare. Our wide selection of beer is predominantly brewed and stored with uncommon precision to keep temperatures consistently cold.
