Eric Espuny
Eric Espuny is with Domaine Leroy for a little more than 2 years now. Prior to representing the wines of Lalou Bize-Leroy in the US, Eric worked as a sommelier in restaurants like Le Bernardin, Lutece and Alain Ducasse in NYC and the Patina group in Los Angeles. James Beard nominee in 2006 and 2009 for outstanding wine service and named sommelier of the year by Food & Wine Magazine in 2012, Eric always enjoyed sharing
his passion for wine and gastronomy.
Maison Leroy has a history in Burgundy stretching back to 1868. With Madame Bize-Leroy’s founding of Domaine Leroy in 1988, her wines were propelled to a quality level equal to and surpassing other heralded domaines. Domaine Leroy has positioned itself amongst the grandest and most collected wineries in all of Burgundy. Meticulous, biodynamic farming and incredible attention to detail in the winery produces wines that are expressive with energy, transformative, and quintessentially Burgundian. The Leroy family’s 50% ownership of Domaine de La Romanée- Conti gave Lalou ample ability to amass the deepest and most revered cellar in Burgundy during the past six decades. With her legendary palate and relentless standards, she unearths some of the most thrilling wines of each vintage, then ages or finishes the wines herself, only releasing them to the market when she knows they are at their peak. Join us in welcoming Eric Espuny of Leroy as we explore some of our favorite vintages of the Maison and Domaine wines.
